Rarely an evening went by that mine didn't finish the day with a bowl of ice cream, usually vanilla. And of course summer meant it was time to hand crank some homemade ice cream!joekshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02667559017050803003noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21109207.post-74928658746279447652016-06-11T09:15:09.486-04:002016-06-11T09:15:09.486-04:00I'm not surprised it's a Dutch tradition. ...I'm not surprised it's a Dutch tradition. We used to tease him about that because he once had 3 containers of vanilla in his freezer. Our choices were "vanilla, vanilla, or vanilla." Haha! I wasn't crazy about the butter and sugar sandwiches either. I never missed them when we stopped eating them. I preferred the bananas in milk, sprinkled with sugar... if there was no ice cream. Good childhood memories. :)Rachelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08494061549313899425noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21109207.post-31904245446875625792016-06-09T13:55:17.307-04:002016-06-09T13:55:17.307-04:00Fairy Bread sounds fancy! Mum always cut them in triangles. These were served at a birthday party. We called it Fairy Bread. I made them at my daughters party once and the kids raved about this 'lovely Fairy Bread'. Everyone loved it. Something so simple.

Marilyn from Canada Marilyn from Canadahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14491291472925860533noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21109207.post-4896736591433146692016-06-09T08:23:29.998-04:002016-06-09T08:23:29.998-04:00Presumably, but I really don't remember.
